Umhlanga Rocks

This last weekend, our South Africa mission team worked at a small resort community outside of Durban, called Umhlanga Rocks.  The Baptist church there is a mixture of young families and retired folks.  Continuing with the “Five Principles of Unity” Bible study materials, Blake spoke to married couples Friday night, talking about basic relationship principles.  On Saturday Andrew Guthrie joined in the leadership responsibilities as the team spent the morning over-viewing the “”5 Principles” material for the entire congregation as well as pastors and lay people from neighboring churches.  Uhmlanga is a beautiful resort community (rivaling Miami Beach in both look and feel).   Along with the team’s accommodation in a beach front hotel, owned and operated by one of the church members, the team soon began to use the name of the community as a declaration rather than just a name … “Wow!  Uhmlanga ROCKS!”
