VBS Day 2

Day 2 is in the books. Over 100 kids today! The team is doing an awesome job of working together, teaching and loving the kids, and sharing God’s truth with them. It has been amazing to see how God has brought people from so many different places and has each of us here for a specific purpose. God orchestrated some amazing circumstances to get everyone here from at least 8 different cities scattered across Lousiana, Texas, and New Mexico.

After rain all night and continuing this morning, we were a bit concerned about what would happen with outdoor recreation as well as construction work. However, God was gracious and the rain cleared out of Jemez in time for the sandy dirt to soak up all the water and everything was able to carry on as planned.

Everyone was digging through the bottom of their creativity this afternoon to entertain the hungry kids for an extra 30 minutes while waiting for lunch. Think red light, green light with kids and teenagers chasing Glen around with a dollar on his head…:) It was good practice in flexibility and patience.

The construction team worked on the deck, sheet rocking, taping and floating, and some outer siding. They finally got the last, needed clearance from the inspector to continue on with inside work. They are making great headway and enjoying working together as a team. If they aren’t out working in Jemez, you can usually find them at Home Depot.

Tonight was the annual all-team dinner at the Range Cafe. It was a nice evening of fellowship and relaxing together with Daniel and Denise.

Keep praying for us! It was great to see good attitude changes in some of the kids we had specifically prayed for after yesterday. God is working in their hearts!
