Hey everyone, just wanted to let everyone know we made it to Romania. It was a LONG trip. We missed our first flight to London, (because of our delay in San Antonio) which turned out to be a good thing. We would have been on a packed Boeing 747 to London, but instead we were on a 777 that was fairly empty. This allowed more room for the kids. We also got to sit in a seat that had a place for a bassinet for Elijah to sleep in. The down side to the emptier flight was that we had a 7 hour layover in London. By the way, when you look at a menu it may be a good idea to ask the exchange rate before you order. We thought we were paying about $12 for a burger, with free refills on soda. An 8oz soda turn out to be $9, and they weren’t free refills. The meal turned out to be $200 that the DeGeares and I split 50/50. It was a very good burger though.
We arrived in Romania at 11:30 at night (about 23 hours of traveling), but our luggage decided it wanted to sight-see a little longer in Dallas so we should meet back up around 4:30 this afternoon to get our clothes and other items. We arrived in Fundulea from the airport around 1am and finally got to sleep about 2:30 am, after the local dogs finished their “debate.” We stayed at the Ziemer’s last night and went to church this morning. The church service went very well and the people are very friendly. I tried to memorize their names, but because I had to ask them to pronounce their names so many times it wasn’t that hard to do. We will be heading off to camp tomorrow morning. I don’t know if there will be any internet, so the next time you here from us may be when we land in Dallas. Chris, for the team |
